We are thrilled to share our first monograph — a single-building edition focused on the evolution of the Hill Country Wine Cave, published by Oscar Riera Ojeda Publishers.
The project has been recognised with an AIA National Small Project Award, a Texas Society of Architects Design Award, an Architizer A+ Jury Award and a place on the Dezeen Awards architecture longlist, among others.
Its premise was simple and difficult at once: an existing excavation in a limestone hillside that was neither watertight nor made for the purpose. The answer was a demountable wooden insert, held clear of the shell, that can be taken out entirely without a trace.
