A new hotel beneath the heritage oaks of a Bouldin Creek estate whose roots reach back to an 1895 farmhouse.
About this project
Green Pastures began in 1895 as a modest farmhouse on a 50-acre estate, opened to the public as an eatery in 1946, and is today an oak-shaded property alive with resident peacocks a few blocks from Austin's cultural districts.
Over the past decade our team has conceived and executed a phased master plan. Phase I turned the farmhouse into Mattie's, capturing the site's matriarchal charm. Phase II is The Inn — a three-storey, L-shaped hotel that mirrors that warmth with a more refined, modern-gentleman character.
Below-grade parking protects the canopy. West-facing bays open onto a pool courtyard, bar, lounge, fitness centre and event space; generous steel and wood overhangs shield the ground floor from the afternoon sun. Inside, a pastoral palette of deep forest greens and rich browns is set against modern floral wallcoverings, pinstripe upholstery and custom white oak millwork.
